Olympians Bite Their Gold Medals Because Of This Reason

We all have watched Olympic games and its main events. We have also seen how athletes put their hard work to gain this Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal. But have you ever noticed Olympians are asked to bite their gold medals while taking photos? Do you know why?

Well lets now go through some photos where we will see olympians are biting their gold medals during photo shoot.

http://whatsapptrollingjokes.com There are many reasons behind this but photographers asked Olympians to bite their gold medal just to get the awesome and golden click.

“It’s become an obsession with the photographers,” David Wallechinsky, the president of the International Society of Olympic Historians and co-author of “The Complete Book of the Olympics” told CNN in 2012. “I think they look at it as an iconic shot, as something that you can probably sell. I don’t think it’s something the athletes would probably do on their own.” ( source :  www.washingtonpost.com)

Do You Know ?  The last Olympic gold medals made of solid gold were in the Stockholm Games of 1912, but after the World War II, which caused shortages in the precious metal, medals were made of mixed silver.

Yeah, it’s a pretty weird tradition.
